Britain’s Great Cathedrals with Tony Robinson

Weekly from Good Friday, 30th March, 2018
Sir Tony visits six of the UK's finest cathedrals, (York, Canterbury, Durham, Salisbury, Liverpool Anglican and Winchester) admiring their design and looking at the turbulent history that has taken place inside their walls.

He begins with York Minster, which over the past 800 years has been a backdrop to some of the most dramatic events in British history. It houses more than half of all the world's medieval glass and its succession of outspoken bishops have defied Nazis, married kings and queens, and more recently championed equality with Archbishop John Sentamu, the country's first black bishop, consecrating the world's first female bishop, Libby Lane, in 2014.
